CHENEY, Wash. – The Eastern Washington University women's tennis team returns home for Big Sky Conference play as they welcome Sacramento State this Sunday, April 17 at 11 a.m. Pacific Time to Cheney, Wash. The Eagles hold a 3-11 overall and 2-4 conference record.
The last time the Eagles hosted a match dates back to early March when EWU took down Montana (4-3) and Montana State (5-2) inside the Jim Thorpe Fieldhouse. Eastern returns to action after traveling to Beaverton, Ore., to face Portland State last Sunday. Eastern fell 5-2, with
Scout Mathews (6-3, 5-7, 7-6(3)) and
Kenzington Mann (6-3, 6-3) picking up the wins for the Eagles in singles play.
The Eagles hold an all-time series record of 1-17 versus the Hornets. The last time Eastern faced Sac State dates to Senior Day of 2019, in which EWU took down the Hornets 5-2.
The Hornets are led by Sophie Breault, who enters her first season at the helm. Breault currently leads her squad to an overall 3-16 and 2-4 conference record.
