Eastern Washington women's golf completed round two of the Big Sky Conference Championships on Tuesday and are holding steady in fifth place. The Eagles improved by one stroke from round one to shoot 300 today and have a 601 overall score for the championships.
"We had another good day today. We probably had the best start we've had all year," head coach
Brenda Howe said. "Our front nine was really solid; we slipped a little on the back but managed to maintain our position in the field"
Jaelin Ishikawa notched the top performance for Eastern today, shooting a 73 on the day and moving into a tie for 28
th place on the leaderboard.
Meghan Singh was right behind her teammate with a 74 for her second-round score.
Kami Twining posted a solid round on the course as well, recording a 76 and is currently tied for 18
th.
Stephanie Chelack finished with a 77 and
Carisa Padilla shot an 81 for the day.
The Eagles are 11 strokes off what is currently a three-way tie for second place between Sacramento State, Weber State, and Idaho. Each of the teams sits with a 590 overall score. Eastern has a four-stroke lead on sixth-place Idaho State(605).
Northern Arizona leads the championships by 15 strokes(575) after shooting one under today. Sac. St. dropped out of the lead after shooting +16 in round two.
