Aaron Best, Freddie Roberson and Anthany Smith to be Featured at this Year’s Big Sky Football Kickoff

The trio will be live on ESPN+ on Monday, July 25 from the Davenport Grand Hotel in Spokane at 12:22 p.m. PT and 12:29 p.m.

The 2022 football season is just around the corner, and the 2022 Big Sky Football Kickoff will unofficially get the preseason underway this week. The kickoff, that includes student-athletes and head football coaches from all 12 programs around the league, will take place on July 23-25 in Spokane, Wash., at the Davenport Grand Hotel.
 
Eastern Washington University's representatives will be sixth-year head coach, Aaron Best, along with redshirt senior safety Anthany Smith and redshirt junior wide receiver Freddie Roberson. The trio will be live on ESPN+ on Monday, July 25 starting with Best at 12:22 p.m. PT and followed by the players at 12:29 p.m.
 
The Davenport Grand Hotel will host all of the weekend's events. On Saturday, student-athletes will take part in a youth football clinic in Spokane's North Central High School. Following the community service event, the Big Sky will host its inaugural Hall of Fame induction ceremony. Sunday's events include video interviews, photoshoots and meetings, followed by a dinner that evening where the league's Preseason Offensive and Defensive MVP's will be announced.
 
Monday will feature more than five hours of live coverage from the Davenport Grand Hotel beginning at 9:15 a.m. PT on ESPN+, with the Big Sky's Mariluz Cook set to interview two student-athletes and the head coach from all 12 football teams as well as Commissioner Tom Wistrcill.
 
The 2022 All-Big Sky Preseason Team and preseason poll will be announced on Monday, July 25, as well.
 
The Eagles officially open Fall camp on Friday, Aug. 5 and the season opener is set for Saturday, Sept. 3 at Roos Field in Cheney, Wash., against Tennessee State.
