Its back to Spokane for Eastern Washington Track and Field, as the team will compete at the Inland NW Challenge, hosted by Whitworth. The meet will take place at The Podium on Saturday, Jan. 28, with events starting at 9:30 a.m. Pacific Time.
First on the track will be the men's 5000m. The field events start on Saturday with women's weight throw and men's shot put.
Along with the host school Whitworth, Eastern will compete against Big Sky foe Idaho, along with athletes from Washington State.
The Eagles competed at the Lauren McCluskey Memorial Open in Moscow, Idaho this past weekend and
Zach Klobutcher broke the program's indoor men's Pole Vault record to win the event. The junior cleared the bar at 5.21m, the second best result in the Big Sky this season.
Savannah Schultz would gave Eastern two wins in the pole vault, winning the women's event after clearing 3.91m (12-9 3/4 ). Schultz performance gives her the second-best mark in the conference this season.
In the men's weight throw,
Alax Grimes won the event with a 18.31m toss, which comes in at the seventh-best mark in program history. Grimes is now fifth on Big Sky leaderboard with his throw this past Saturday.
Bobby Say earned the conference's third-best mark in the men's long jump with a 7.21m (23'8") performance.
Cody Teevens placed seventh in the heptathlon with 4.560 points and he moved into the 10 spot on the top-10 list. Teevens is third this season on the conference leaderboard for the heptathlon.
During the women's 60m hurdles,
Madelyn Knight finished with a time of 8.75 seconds, ranking third in program history. The senior now holds the third spot on the conference leaderboard.

Eastern Washington will stay at The Podium next week to compete in the Washington State Open. The meet runs from Thursday, Feb. 2 through Saturday, Feb. 4.
