CHENEY, Wash. — November is about to be over and Eastern Washington men's and women's basketball continue their non-conference schedule. The Eagle women have a decisive home matchup against cross-town foe Gonzaga on Wednesday at Reese Court. The team then hosts Boise State on Sunday. The men's team also has a regional matchup tonight as they travel down to Pullman to play Washington State. Eastern has a short turnaround with another road game on Wednesday at USC.

Women's Basketball — vs. Gonzaga (Wednesday) 6 p.m., vs. Boise State (Sunday) 2 p.m. - Get Tickets

Eastern enjoys its home court this week with two competitive opponents coming to Reese Court. The Eagles start with Gonzaga on Nov. 29 with a 6 p.m. tip off. The two teams were scheduled to play in Spokane last season, but the game was canceled. EWU hosts Boise State on Dec. 3. in a rematch of last season's game in Boise. Eastern ended an eight-game losing streak to the Broncos last season with a 83-74 road win.

Wednesday's game will be broadcast live on SWX and both games will be streamed on ESPN+.

The Eagles improved to 4-1 last week after a 64-62 road win over Tarleton State (Nov. 22). Eastern held off the Texans fourth-quarter rally, getting 16 points from Alexis Pettis off the bench and 15 from Jamie Loera. Milly Knowles earned her first career double-double after a 10 point, 12 rebound performance.

EWU leads the Big Sky with 72.0 points per game, while allowing the second-fewest points - 59.2 per game. Aaliyah Alexander is the Eagles' top scorer, averaging 16.8 points per game to rank third in the conference. Loera leads the conference with 5.0 assists per game, also ranking 45th in the NCAA. She holds a 1.7 assist-to-turnover ratio to lead the Big Sky as well.

Men's Basketball — at Washington State (Monday), at Southern California (Wednesday)

The Eagles look to build on their home-opening win over Walla Walla on Wednesday as they continue their challenging non-conference schedule with two more games at Pac-12 schools, taking on the Washington State Cougars in Pullman on Monday night (7 p.m.) before heading to Los Angeles to take on the USC Trojans on Wednesday at 8 p.m.

Eastern actually holds a two-game winning streak at Beasley Coliseum in Pullman, including last year's upset win over the Cougs in the first round of the National Invitation Tournament (NIT). They went 1-1 against WSU last season overall, losing at a neutral site game at Spokane Arena, but won again on the road on Nov. 27, 2021.

The Eags face USC for just the second time in program history — they lost on the road in the only previous head-to-head matchup back in 2005.

Both games this week will be broadcast on Pac-12 Networks. Fans can also, as always, tune in for the radio broadcast with Larry Weir on 700 ESPN and The Varsity Network App.
