CHENEY, Wash. — The fall sports home schedules are coming to an end this week, as two teams celebrate their senior classes. Football hosts Idaho State in the team's final game at Roos Field this season to honor its seniors. Volleyball plays one match at Reese Court on Friday and will honor its seniors as well. Cross-Country sends its representatives at the NCAA West Regionals in Colfax, Wash. on Friday. Men's basketball is back at Reese for a matchup against Cal Poly on Sunday, preceded by women's basketball's matchup against Portland. The women also travel to play Washington on Thursday.
Football - vs. Idaho State (Saturday, Nov. 16 at 1 p.m. PT) - Get Tickets
Eastern Washington plays its final home game of the season this coming Saturday, with Idaho State in town. The Eagles will celebrate senior day, with a pregame recognition of the 2024 graduating class. The game kicks off at 1 p.m. from Roos and will be broadcast live on SWX, with streaming on ESPN+
Eastern snapped a three-game losing streak on Saturday and is 2-4 in the Big Sky and 3-7 overall. The Bengals are 3-3 and 5-5 overall, currently on a two-game winning streak.
EWU put together a complete game against Northern Colorado, winning 43-15 in Greeley. The Eagles set the tone early, scoring touchdowns on its first four possessions. They led 29-8 at halftime. UNC scored on a one play, 75-yard drive to open the second half, but Eastern responded with a 9 play, 80 yard drive to dash any momentum the Bears had built. They added another score in the fourth quarter to put away UNC.
As a team, the Eagles rushed for 339 yards, with a 5.0 yards per carry average. Malik Dotson led the team with 125 yards on 17 carries, followed by Jared Taylor with 90 yards on 17 carries, scoring two touchdowns. EWU's defense held UNC to 48 rushing yards, the lowest allowed by the Eagles since 2018 against Washington State(41).
In the game, Efton Chism III caught 10 passes for 93 yards and grabbed two touchdowns. Chism solidified his spot at third all-time in receiving touchdowns with 35, passing Nicholas Edwards and Brandon Kaufman. He eclipsed 1000 receiving yards this season, marking the first time in his career, and has 1035 total in 2024.
Chism also surpassed 3500 career receiving yards, with 3576 total. He leads the Big Sky in yards, receptions (95) and receiving touchdowns (11). In the FCS, Chism ranks first with 9.5 receptions per game, while ranking second in yards and third in touchdowns.
Eagle kicker Soren McKee converted 5-of-5 extra points on Saturday, giving him 86 consecutive makes for his career, breaking the program record of 85 consecutive makes by Roldan Alcaobendas (2017-18).

Eastern Washington enters the second week of the 2024-25 season following a solid 1-1 start. The Eagles secured their first win of the year with a thrilling 93-86 victory over Seattle at home. The win was particularly meaningful for head coach Dan Monson, as it marked his inaugural victory with Eastern Washington.
Andrew Cook was the standout player for the Eagles, leading the team with 25 points. He was supported by Mason Williams (18 points), Sebastian Hartmann (16 points), and Emmett Marquardt (14 points). As a team, the Eagles shot an impressive 50% from the field and edged Seattle in rebounds, 30-28. In addition, EWU's ball control was sharp, committing only six turnovers compared to Seattle's 10.
Next up for the Eagles is a matchup with Missouri, the second meeting between the two programs and their first since the 1988-89 season. Eastern Washington has a more extensive history with Cal Poly, owning a 5-4 all-time record against the Mustangs, including a 62-53 victory in 2023.

The Eastern Eagles are gearing up for their final home match of the season on Senior Day, set for 6 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 15. The team will honor five graduating seniors during a special ceremony before the match, which fans can watch live on ESPN+.
Eastern is coming off a mixed weekend, going 1-1. The Eagles completed the season sweep of Montana State with a thrilling five-set victory but fell to Montana in the second match. Key performances included Sadie Bacon, who posted 12 kills and hit .500, as well as Kalista Lukovich and Tanai Jenkins, who both played a pivotal role in the offense against Montana State.
The seniors being honored on Friday are: Sadie Bacon, Jannie Blake, Mackenna Thayne, Mckenna Collins, and Kate Hatch.
Earlier this season, Eastern defeated Idaho 3-0 in Moscow. Historically, the Eagles have a 28-40 record against the Vandals but have won the last seven matchups in a row.
Cross Country - at NCAA West Regional (Friday, November 15 at 11 a.m. Pacific Time)
The Eastern Washington Eagles are gearing up for the NCAA West Regional this Friday, Nov. 15, at 11 a.m. (PST) at the Colfax Golf Club in Colfax, Wash., hosted by Washington State University. The men's race will start at 11 a.m., followed by the women's race at 12 p.m.
The men are coming off an impressive performance at the Big Sky Championship, where they recorded their best finish since 2015, placing fourth overall. This marks only the third time in program history that the men have finished in fourth place, with previous finishes in 2015 and 2005.
Noah Hasselblad led the Eagles with a 22nd-place finish, clocking in at 24:48.3. Just behind him was Evan Peters in 25th place with a time of 24:59.4. Rounding out the top five for the Eagles were Owen Higgins in 30th, Austin Steed in 31st, and Jesus Herrejon in 35th.
On the women's side, the Eagles secured a fifth-place finish for the second consecutive year. Jasmin Muneton was the top finisher for Eastern, taking 23rd place with a time of 17:58.9. Nattie Ruzauskas followed closely in 27th place with a time of 18:07.9. Other top scorers for the Eagles included Rylee Brandon (31st), Sara Sanders (37th), and Jenni Bissell (38th).
Women's Basketball - at Washington (Thursday, Nov. 14 at 6 p.m. PT), vs. Portland (Sunday, Nov. 17 at 2 p.m. PT) - Get Tickets
Eastern Washington will be on the road for one game and at home for one this week. EWU travels to Seattle to play Washington on Thursday, before coming home to play Portland on Sunday.
EWU is 1-1 after the first week of the 2024 season, winning its home opener against Walla Walla , 81-33 on Saturday. They fell in the season opener to Washington State,
83-82, in overtime.
Against the Wolves, the Eagles started quickly with a 9-0 run to open the game. Walla Walla responded with a 13-2 stretch to take a lead over Eastern. A 6-2 run from EWU to close the first quarter put them in front 18-15. A dominant second quarter from the Eagles put the team in control for the rest of the game, outshooting the wolves, 27 to 7. Eastern held Walla Walla to 11 points in the second half, and scored 26. They shot 50.9 percent overall for the game.
Ella Gallatin led all scorers with 18 points, while 11 different Eagles scored in the game. Jaecy Eggers had a game-high eight rebounds and added nine points on offense. Bella Hays scored 10 points with four rebounds. Peyton Howard had six assists to lead both teams.
Early in the season, Gallatin is Eastern's top scorer averaging 14.5 points and shooting 63.2 percent from the floor in 26.0 minutes per game. Paris Kirk leads in the paint with 9.0 rebounds per game. Howard has nine assists to lead the team and is second with a 13.5 points per game average.
