FARMINGTON, Utah — A new week and a new award for Eastern Washington women's tennis. Senior Jennifer Kida earned Big Sky Co-Player of the Week after going undefeated on the courts in two matches this past week. She shares the award with Sacramento State's Irene Riva.

Kida went 4-0 overall, sweeping her singles and doubles matches without dropping a set.

The senior put Eastern on the board in the team's 4-3 conference opening win over Montana State. Kida played at the No. 2 spot, winning 2-0 in straight sets (6-2, 6-3) over Paula Dougherty. In doubles, Kida played with Kenzington Mann at No. 3, winning 6-1 over Jasmin Lerman and Angel Bean.

Against Gonzaga, Kida helped EWU secure the doubles points with a 7-5 win at the No. 3 spot, partnering with Mann again, over Brooke Bittner and Caroline Wernli. The senior followed up with another straight-set win at the No. 2 singles position over Kianna Oda (6-2, 6-4).

This season, Kida is 3-7 in singles, currently on a three-match winning streak. She has a 6-2 overall record in doubles to lead the team.

Eastern hosts Whitman College on Sunday (Feb. 27) at the Jim Thorpe Fieldhouse with first serve at 10 a.m. Pacific Time.
