FARMINGTON, Utah — Fresh off claiming the Big Sky regular season title, Jamie Loera was named Big Sky Player of the Week, announced by the conference today. The award is Loera's third this season after earning one Player of the Week and one Co-Player of the Week.

Loera carried her role of the heart-and-soul of the team to a 3-0 record this past week, securing Eastern's first Big Sky regular season title since 2009-10. Loera averaged 16.3 points, 6.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists, 3.3 steals per game, adding two blocks. The graduate student shot 46.5 from the field and 41.7 percent from three-point range.

Loera delivered a season highlight against Montana State, hitting the game winning shot as time expired. She scored 15 points and had eight assists, along with five rebounds in the game.

Against Montana, Loera scored 20 points and had 10 rebounds for her third double-double of the season in EWU's 56-55 win.

Loera celebrated senior night on Monday against Sacramento State, filling up the stat sheet with 14 points, eights assists and five steals. EWU secured the regular season title outright with a 72-59 win over the Hornets.

The Moses Lake, Wash. native leads the Big Sky with 2.4 steals per game and is second with 5.5 assists per game. She is eighth with 13.3 points per game and 5.9 rebounds per game. Loera has three double-doubles this season.

The Eagles are 16-2 in the Big Sky and 26-5 overall, both win totals are program records. The team is currently on a 10-game winning streak, matching the program record set earlier this season.

Eastern is the No. 1 seed in the Big Sky Tournament next week and will play on Sunday (March 10) at 11 a.m. Pacific Time. The Eagles will face either the No. 9 seed Idaho or the No. 10 seed Portland State.
