OGDEN, Utah — The road trips are over for Eastern Washington women's tennis in the regular season. Eastern fell to Weber State, 5-2, on Sunday morning after losing four singles matches. The Eagles are now 1-6 in the Big Sky and 3-15 overall.

"This was a really hard-fought battle today. I'm very proud of the team because they really controlled the things they could control and they played with heart," head coach Dustin Hinson said. "The whole team played with Eagle effort, Eagle energy and that's what I love to see day in and day out. We didn't come out on top but we can have zero regrets because we put everything we had into the matches today. We are looking forward to preparing for a good home match next Friday to finish off the regular season."

The Wildcats opened with two wins in the doubles round to secure a 1-0 lead on Eastern.

Jennifer Kida had a tough matchup at No. 2 against Ana Morett, but the senior prevailed in straight sets (6-4, 7-5).

At the No. 5, Isabella Foshee was also in a tight match, but won in straight sets (6-3, 7-5) over Sicily Ferreira.

Weber earned wins at No. 1, 3, 4 and 6 to earn the home win over EWU.
