FARMINGTON, Utah — The Big Sky Conference announced on Monday, January 27, that
Kimberly "Tuti" Smith has been named Female Field Athlete of the Week following her record-breaking performance in the long jump at the Lauren McCluskey Memorial Meet this past weekend.
"Awesome job this weekend for Tuti, breaking the school record and taking over the number one spot in the Big Sky in the long jump," said
Erin Tucker, Director of Track and Field/Cross Country. "I'm super proud of her and excited about what Coach Jo and Tuti have in store for the rest of the season."
This marks Smith's first time earning the honor. She soared to the top of both the Eastern Washington record books and the Big Sky standings, surpassing her teammate Caitlin "Egypt" Simmons with a jump of 6.25m to secure the win this past weekend.
