Cheney, Wash. - The Eagles have announced new editions to their roster for Eastern Washington University's track and field and cross country programs. Eastern's Director of Track and Field, Erin Tucker, announced the signing of 31 new student-atheletes for the 2026-27 season.

"This is year four of shaking the trees and finding athletes that understand our vision,"  said Tucker. "Each year we have felt we addressed some issues and each year we have gotten better.  I am excited about this class and I am certain they will help us right away.  All of them will help us continue our mission to be one of the best schools in the Big Sky!  Go Eags!"

The incoming athletes will compete for the cross country team starting this fall, with the track and field season kicking off in the winter.

Women
Paris Ackerman
Skyview High School / Vancouver, Washington
100m and 200m

From Coach Tuck: Paris is one of the best all-around sprinters in her Washington Senior Class. She has range from the 60m all the way to the 400m and will be a staple on both sprint relays for years. She will have one of the best training partners in Judith and will learn alot from the Senior in her last year here at EWU. The sky is the limit for Paris, and I cannot wait to see all the records she collects!

Mika Cherry
Hermiston High School / Hermiston, Oregon
Javelin

From Coach Tuck: Mika is a very sweet girl that packs a very powerful punch! This javelin standout is going to do awesome things both on the runway and off for the Eastern Eagles!

Maile England
Wenatchee High School / Wenatchee, Washington
Pole Vault

From Coach Erin: Maile will be a force to be reckoned with. She may be one of the quietest one on the team but her vaulting will speak volumes. I'm so excited to have her on the team for next year. Maile will make a great name for herself at EWU.

Mari Evonuk
Sherwood High School/University of the Redlands / Sherwood, Oregon

From Coach Tuck: Mari is and amazing addition to the flight crew. The HJ is an event in the Big Sky we feel we can make a statement in and we are thrilled to have this amazing transfer.

Jasmine Haskell
Ironwood High School/Cal State Northridge / Glendale, Arizona
200m and 400m

From Coach Tuck: Jasmine has been on my radar since she was in High School, and I am happy to finally have her join our sprint corp. She will go down as the best 400m runner in EWU history immediately and will challenge for a Big Sky championship out the gate. We just put the Big Sky and NCAA on notice.

Aliah Karl Edmonds
Woodway High School / Edmonds, Washington
400m, 800m, and Mile

From Coach Karson: Aliah comes in with PRs of 2:14 (1.5s PR) and 58.2 (1s PR). Her skill set is perfect for what we want to build. Coming in low mileage, but not afraid of more volume (she says she wants to get better at the mile) means she'll adjust well. Probably our smallest recruit and will make big gains with just lifting.

Mallory Keller
Selah High School / Selah, Washington
Steeplechase and Cross Country

From Coach K: Mallory's steeple experience is exciting to have. She will need a few years to develop as do most developmental aerobic athletes.

Ali Medina
Michel Oxnard High School/California State University, Domínguez Hills / Oxnard, California
200m and 400m

From Coach Tuck: I believe Ali has finally found her home. She has had quite the college journey and now that she is home, we finally get to see her fly (literally and figuratively). Ali's is mature beyond her years, and I am excited to add another seasoned veteran to the Sprint Corp.

Kate Mickelson

From Coach K: Kate is already bought into the team and what we are doing. She frequently reached out to the team and other commits since committing in the fall. She dropped significant time off her mile this year. I see her able to contribute after a year of development.

Cheney High School, Pima Community College / Cheney, Washington

From Coach K: I'm excited to have a former CHS student, as I want to tap into the community to bring in local talent. Karlee is very under trained and I'm excited to see what she'll do with our robust training, especially lifting weights.

Micah Rigg
Nestucca High School / Cloverdale, Oregon
Mile, Steeplechase, and Cross Country

From Coach K: Micah is one of the ladies I'm most excited about. She was always a solid decision, low mileage, but still had results in XC. Then this Outdoor she dropped 17s off her 1500m and won the 2A State! We love a Washington State Champ!

Adding two dominant state champions like Chace and Ezra completely changes the game for our program. They aren't just great jumpers; they are strong competitors who know how to win and pairing them together makes our runway one of the most dangerous in the Big Sky.

From Coach Tuck: When I watched Dash run the 60m indoor at the podium in December as well as January, I was intrigued, but when I found out he was in the middle of basketball season, I said I had to have him. To watch him execute with that level of power and patience and to know he was moonlighting from basketball was even more impressive. Fortunately for Dash, he walks into a short sprint group that without a doubt is the best short sprint group in the Big Sky. He will have great mentors and is in an outstanding situation and that is why I think he chose to sign with the good guys. Go Eags!

From Coach K: Ethan is another strong addition to the Men's 800m group. His drive for the sport is apparent and sure to be a boom for the team. Adding a strong local recruit like Ethan continues to demonstrate that the East side is where fast running happens.

From Coach Tuck: Cole came highly recommended by EWU great Daniel Gaik, last year he was a 100m/200m runner and Daniel convinced him to move up to the 400m and it produced a top-3 finish at the Washington 3A State Meet in the 400m. I love his range and I love his grit, he is the perfect sprinter for Eastern Washington University.

From Coach Tuck: Feso's potential is crazy. When you ask him what events he does and he says I am a jumper you believe him. It is very rare for someone to do all 3 jumps and I am confident not only will he accel, but he will accel at a high level. We are excited to have another local product on our team. Sky is the limit for this young man.

From Coach Tuck: Bringing Bransyn into our multi-event group completely stacks our Multi roster. To watch a guy, break a school record in the high jump, win a regional title in the long jump and then go anchor for a relay tells you everything you need to know about his raw ceiling. He isn't just bouncy, he has true, explosive track speed. Transitioning him into a full decathlete alongside Jaren gives us an incredible young multi-core, and we are fired up to mold his hard work into a Big Sky Scorer.
