Women's Basketball - at Montana State (Thursday, Jan. 8 at 6 PM PT), at Montana (Saturday, Dec. 10 at 1 PM PT)

Eastern Washington is preparing for its first Big Sky road trip of the season as Montana State and Montana are first up. EWU plays Montana State on Thursday in Bozeman and Montana in Missoula on Saturday. Both games will be streamed live on ESPN+.

The Eagles opened conference play with one game last week, hosting cross-state rival Idaho at Reese Court. Despite a late rally, Eastern fell in the game to
the Vandals, 69-63. EWU trailed by double-digits at halftime but found its offense in the second half. With under five minutes to play, the Eagles cut the Idaho lead down to one, before four-straight points gave the Vandals a cushion. In the final minute, an Ella Gallatin layup brought the lead down to 65-63. Following the score, Idaho converted its free throws to close out the Eagles. Elyn Bowers dropped her second career 20-point game with 20 points even. Kourtney Grossman recorded her second 20-point rebound game, and just missed her fourth-straight double-double with nine points.

Following another 20-point rebounding performance, Grossman has moved to the top of the NCAA rebounding charts, averaging 12.9 per game. Grossman averages 13.5 points per game, good for second on the team and tied for 11th in the Big Sky. She has seven double-doubles this season to lead the conference and rank 10th in the nation. From the floor, Grossman is shooting 39.9 percent and leads the team with a 32.7 mark from three-point range.

Led by Grossman, Eastern is one of the top rebounding teams in the Big Sky with 42.3 total per game. They averaged 29.3 defensive rebounds per game to rank second and have a plus-2.3 rebounding margin to rank fifth.

Over the last five games, the Eagles have averaged 69.4 points per game, going over 70 points in three games. EWU ranks fifth in the Big Sky with 68.5 points per game.

Bowers leads the team in scoring with 13.8 points per game, while shooting 41.3 from the floor. In her freshman season, Bowers has scored in double figures in 11 of 14 games. She is shooting 32.2 from behind the arc.
