Gallatin earns first career Player of the Week

The senior played scorer and distributor this past week

FARMINGTON, Utah — For the first time in her career Ella Gallatin earns Big Sky Player of the Week honors, announced by the conference today.  

Gallatin was a force all over the court this past week, averaging 22.0 points, 8.0 assists and 5.5 rebounds per game. The Snohomish, Wash. native shot 43.3 percent from the floor, and was 14-of-15(93.3%) from the free throw line. 

In Eastern's 87-78 win over Portland State, Gallatin dropped 25 points, adding 10 assists for her second career double-double, along with five rebounds. Gallatin's 10 assists is the most by an Eastern player since Jamie Loera recorded 12 against Utah State in 2023. 


Against Sacramento State, Gallatin scored 19 points, with six assists and six rebounds. 


In the Big Sky this season, Gallatin ranks fourth in scoring (15.8), ninth in field goal percentage (42.1%), and eighth in assists per game (3.4). She leads Eastern in scoring and assists as well.


Gallatin has seven 20-point games this season, with 23 scoring in double-digits. She has eight games with three-plus made three pointers. The senior averages 1.5 made threes a game, ranking 11th in the Big Sky. For the season, Gallatin is also fourth in minutes played, averaging 34.3 per game. 


Eastern Washington travels to play Northern Colorado on Thursday (Feb. 26),  with tip off at 5 p.m. Pacific time. 


EWU returns home on Saturday for their final home game against Northern Arizona (Feb. 28) at 2 p.m. and celebrates senior day. Gallatin will be honored postgame along with four additional Eagle players.
