Park places in Top-20, Eagles finish first tournament of ‘26

Eastern Washington played three days in Palm Desert

PALM DESERT, Calif. — Eastern Washington men's golf completed its first tournament of the 2026 at the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate. EWU played three rounds, Monday through Wednesday at The Classic Club Golf Club. The Eagles shot 893 for the week, placing 19th on the team leaderboard. 

Hogan Park earned a top-20 finish, tying for 13th on the individual leaderboard after shooting -5 (211) in Palm Desert. Park notched a 69 in round one and followed up with a 70 the next day. 

Cal Anderson shook off a slow start, shooting 73s in the last two rounds to move up the leaderboard. Eli McNelly had a good opening round, posting a 73.  

Colorado won the team title, with a final total of 830. Maryland was second after shooting 842 and California Baptist was third at 845.

The Terrapins' Emil Riegger won the individual title at -10 (206). Colorado's Brandon Knight second and Jackson Rivera tied for second after recording a score of -9 (207).

Eastern Washington is off next week but resumes competition at the Bandon Dunes Championship in Bandon, Ore. The tournament runs from March 8th through the 10th at the Pacific Dunes Golf Club.
