OGDEN, Utah — The last road trip of the 2026 season is now complete for Eastern Washington women's tennis ended on a high note. Eastern defeated Weber State, 5-2, on Sunday morning, taking the doubles point to begin and adding four wins in singles. EWU is now 4-3 in the Big Sky and 10-8 overall. The win also secured the Eagles a spot in the Big Sky Championships, the team's first postseason appearance since 2019.

"It was a great win today for the team. I thought we showed up with great energy and we had belief. We showed it from start to finish," head coach Dustin Hinson said. "I look forward to getting back to training and preparing for our senior day and our last home match against Idaho."

The Eagles swept doubles to earn the point, led by a 6-3 win from Leandra Nizetic and Maria Lopez at No. 3. Eastern clinched the point following a 6-4 win for Zoe Pradel and Olivia Marais at No. 1, while Anait Arutiunian added a 7-5 to complete the sweep from the No. 2 spot.

Pradel put EWU up two after defeating Maggie Song, 6-3, 7-5 at No. 3 singles.

The Wildcats got on the board with a win at No. 6 singles, but Arutiunian responded quickly at No. 2, winning in two sets over Paulina Aleksandrowicz.

Marais kept continuing her role as the match-clincher, defeating Savannah Johnsn in a long two-set battle at No. 5 singles and giving Eastern the fourth point to secure the match victory.
