FARMINGTON, Utah — Academic excellence continues to define Eastern Washington University Athletics, as 49 Eagle student-athletes were named to the Big Sky Conference 2026 Winter All-Academic Team, the league office announced Wednesday.
Eastern's 49 honorees were part of 546 student-athletes recognized across the conference's 10 member institutions, with Weber State leading all programs with 80 selections.
To qualify for All-Academic honors, student-athletes must meet the following criteria: compete in at least half of their team's contests, maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher (on a 4.0 scale), and complete at least one academic term at their current Big Sky institution. Indoor track and field athletes may also qualify by competing at the conference championship.
Women's track and field paced Eastern with 17 selections, followed by men's track and field with 12. Both men's and women's basketball programs added 10 honorees each.
Of the 49 Eagles recognized, 17 posted a perfect 4.0 cumulative GPA. Women's track and field accounted for 10 of those marks. Conference-wide, 78 student-athletes achieved a 4.0 GPA.
As a department, Eastern Washington Athletics recorded a 3.35 GPA during the winter quarter, extending its streak to
