TORONTO Nolan Ulm has achieved one of his lifetime goals: he is now playing professional football. Ulm was drafted in the fourth round with the 30th overall pick by the Toronto Argonauts in the 2026 Canadian Football League Draft on Tuesday night. The Argos used the first pick of the fourth round to take Ulm.

Ulm played six seasons for the Eagles, racking up 117 receptions for 1330 yards and 11 touchdowns. The Kelowna, B.C. native posted his most productive season in 2023, where he caught 45 passes for 564 yards, scoring four touchdowns. Ulm was named to Phil Steele's All-Big Sky fourth team in '23.

In his senior season, Ulm was named to the AFCA Good Works Team and was a semifinalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy. He also added CoSIDA Academic All-District to his academic awards. For his career, Ulm earned five Big Sky All-Academic honors.

2025 was Ulm's final season for Eastern as he started all 12 games, catching 27 passes for 228 yards and one touchdown.

During the 2022 season, Ulm recorded the ninth-longest catch in EWU history, an 87-yard touchdown reception against Idaho from Gunner Talkington.

Toronto finished the 2025 season with a 5-13 record, carrying 10 points, but missing the CFL playoffs.

Ulm joins former Eagle Da'Marcus Johnson, who played with Ulm in the 2023 season. Johnson signed with the Argonauts in 2024.

EWU now has four alumni in the league with Ulm joining Johnson, Bo Levi Mitchell (Hamilton Tiger-Cats), and Vernon Adams (B.C. Lions). Wyatt Hansen signed with the Edmonton Elks after the draft last season.
