CHENEY, Wash. — Eastern Washington will be represented at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships this week as Cort Gebbers prepares to compete in the men's discus in Eugene, Ore.
Track and Field – NCAA Outdoor Championships (Friday, June 12 | 2:15 p.m. PT.)
Gebbers earned his spot at the NCAA Championships after a standout performance at the NCAA West First Rounds in Fayetteville, Ark. The sophomore placed 11th overall and recorded a personal-best throw of 56.86 meters (186-6), moving him into second place in Eastern Washington program history.
Entering the national meet ranked 23rd in the field, Gebbers will compete against 23 of the nation's top discus throwers on Friday, June 12, at 2:15 p.m. PT. He becomes the lone Eagle to advance to the NCAA Championships and will represent Eastern Washington on collegiate track and field's biggest stage.
