CHENEY, Wash. – A three game home stand for the Eastern Washington University women's basketball team begins on Sunday afternoon as the Eagles play host to Boise State for a 1 p.m. tip-off inside Reese Court.
 
EWU (2-4) looks to bounce back from a 69-45 loss at Gonzaga on Thursday (Nov. 30), the Broncos (2-3) also lost a close 74-72 contest against Saint Mary's Thursday evening.
 
A LOOK AT YOUR EAGLES: As a team, EWU ranks 43rd across Division I with 5.2 blocks per game to lead the Big Sky. They have 30 blocked shots on the season which ranks 62nd. Eastern Washington averages 56 points per game while their opponents average 68.
 
In addition, Eastern Washington is shooting .725 from the line this season, which is 89th in the nation. Eastern's defense forces 18.83 turnovers per game, and ranks 37th in the nation with 11.3 steals per game.
 
Leading the way for Eastern Washington is senior 
Delaney Hodgins, who averages 17.7 points per game, which is 94th in the NCAA. She ranks 27th in the nation with 2.5 blocked shots per game and 37th with 3.0 steals per game.
 
Violet Kapri Morrow also averages points into the double-digits with 11.3 per contest. She is shooting .800 from the free throw line, going 24-30 on the year. 
Symone Starks leads the team with 12 assists and has 19 steals on the year.
 
SCOUTING THE BRONCOS: As a team, the reigning Mountain West champions average 72.2 points per game and allow their opponents to average just 61.8. They are paced offensively by Marta Hermida who averages 12.6 points per game and Riley Lupifer who averages 12. In addition, Hermida pulls down 6.2 rebounds per game and leads the team with 26 assists.
 
The Broncos average 43.8 rebounds per game, and have 124 offensive rebounds on the year which rank seventh in the nation. They shoot .389 from field goal range and .257 from behind the arc.
 
SERIES HISTORY: The Eagles and Broncos have been fixtures on each other's schedules nearly every season since 1983. Boise State currently holds a 26-16 advantage over EWU, but it's the Eagles who hold the 10-9 edge in Reese Court. Last season, Eastern Washington travelled to Boise and fell by a score of 67-64. Eastern has dropped the last three meetings and haven't won since Dec. 20, 2013 at home.
 
SIBLING RIVALRY: Sunday's matchup will be a unique one, as the Eagles will welcome 
Delaney Hodgins' younger sister Braydey Hodgins to Reese Court. Braydey Hodgins is a sophomore guard for the Broncos, who made her first appearance of the 2017-18 season on Thursday against Saint Mary's. She scored eight points, including a pair of three pointers, and two assists in 21 minutes of action. 
Delaney Hodgins paces the Eagles with 17.7 points and 8.2 rebounds per game. She is currently chasing the oldest of the three, Hayley Hodgins, all-time scoring record.
 
Hayley Hodgins (2013-16) scored 1,865 career points over 126 games for the Eagles. Delaney played with Hayley for two years and currently has 1,543 career points, needing just 332 more points to pass big sister.
 
Braydey Hodgins appeared in all 33 games for the Broncos last season as a true freshman. She averaged 3.5 points per contest while adding 1.7 rebounds.
SOARING TO THE TOP: After scoring 11 points at Gonzaga, 
Delaney Hodgins now has 1,534 career points to rank third all-time on EWU's all-time career scoring list. The Preseason Big Sky MVP is just 200 points away from moving into sole possession of second place and is 332 away from breaking her older sister Haley Hodgins' all-time record of 1,865 points. Hodgins' double-digit performance was the 82nd of her career and fourth of the season.
 
LAST TIME OUT: Eastern Washington took on crosstown rival Gonzaga in Spokane on Thursday. The Eagles stayed with the Bulldogs until they used a 16-3 run in the second run late in the first half to put EWU away for good. 
Delaney Hodgins led the team with 11 points, followed by 
Violet Kapri Morrow who had 10. 
Amy Hartleroad scored a career-high seven points, while 
Symone Starks tied her career high with six steals. Hodgins led the team with eight boards.
 
NEXT TIME UP: Eastern Washington takes on Multnomah alongside 2,500 local elementary school students for Kid's Day on Friday, Dec. 8, at 11 a.m.
 The Eagles then play host to Cal Poly on Dec. 11 before heading out to Indiana for the Traveler's Invitational on Dec. 17-18. Big Sky Conference play begins on Dec. 28 against Northern Colorado at Reese Court.
