Eastern Heads to Montana for the Al Manuel Invitational

The Eagles will be going head-to-head against two other Big Sky schools

The Eastern Washington University track and field teams travel to Missoula, Mont., this Friday (March 29) for the Al Manuel Invitational which will take place over two days. The Eagles will go head-to-head against Big Sky Conference rivals Montana and Montana State.

"The Al Manuel Track and Field Meet is one of our more important meets of the season," said head coach Marcia Mecklenburg. "We will be dueling two Big Sky schools, Montana and Montana State, and traditionally we have done pretty well at this meet."

"The Al Manuel meet always generates strong early-season performances," said head coach Stan Kerr. "The coaches are excited to have the full squad completing after our last two meets."

On Friday (March 29), the women's hammer throw will begin at 3 p.m. with the men to follow around 4:45 p.m.
The meet will continue with the women's javelin throw on Saturday (March 30) at 10 a.m. The running events will start at 12 p.m.

Other Comments from Head Coach Marcia Mecklenburg…

"Our athletes will be coming back from spring break early for Al Manuel. They will have had an opportunity to take a break from school, get home to see family, and hopefully get some good training in, so I am expecting to see some good marks."

"I am looking forward to watching everyone compete. That is the beauty of the Montana facility. All the events are contested at the track facility so I get a chance to watch everyone compete."

Other Comments from Head Coach Stan Kerr…

"Larry's record vault last weekend sets a great tone for all the event areas. It's time to get after it."
