Four Eastern Washington University track and field student-athletes have been selected to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic team for the 2018-19 school year.

Representing Eastern Washington among the 902 women selected were Madison Doepker, Elizabeth Prouty and Samantha Raines, with Isaac Barville among the 583 men honored.

To qualify for the individual awards, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have met specific criteria in competition. For the indoor season, a student-athlete must have finished the regular season ranked in the national top 96 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 48 (collective listing) in a relay event on the official NCAA POP list provided by TFRRS.org. Or, for the outdoor season, a student-athlete must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Championships (including preliminary rounds).

All four have a cumulative GPA of 3.36 and above and have combined for 22 Big Sky Conference All-Academic honors. They all qualified during the outdoor season to compete at the NCAA West Preliminaries in Sacramento, Calif., with Doepker recording the top finish of 34th in the javelin.

Doepker is a 2015 graduate of Walla Walla (Wash.) High School and had a 3.97 grade point average while majoring in accounting at EWU. Prouty graduated the same year from Tigard (Ore.) HS and has 3.60 GPA was an exercise science major. Raines also was an exercise science major, and had a 3.36 GPA. She is from Kennewick, Wash., and graduated from Kamiakin HS in 2015. Barville is a 2016 graduate of University HS in Spokane, Wash., and has a 3.51 GPA.

Doepker won the Big Sky Conference title in the javelin with a throw of 154-8 and was third in the hammer with a throw of 193-2. Six times in her Eastern career she has earned Big Sky All-Academic honors.

She ranks 10th in school history in the javelin (154-8) and is fourth in the hammer (194-6), with both marks achieved in the 2019 outdoor season. Doepker is also eighth all-time in the 20-pound weight throw indoors with an effort of 57-11 in 2019.

Raines and Prouty helped Eastern to the first 1-2-3 sweep in school history when Raines won the title and Prouty was second at the Big Sky Outdoor Championships. Raines had a winning vault of 13-4 1/2 and Prouty had an effort of 13-2 1/2. At the league's indoor championships, Raines was second (13-2 1/2) and Prouty was third (13-0 3/4) after winning the 2018 title (13-3).

Both had their top outdoor performances in 2019, with Raines ranking fourth in school history (13-4 1/2) and Prouty right behind in fifth (13-3 1/2). Prouty's best indoor mark of 13-3 1/2 ranks fourth in school history and is the 10th-best mark all-time in the league, and Raines is right behind ranked fifth all-time at EWU (13-2 1/2).
