Women’s Basketball Coaching Staff in Place with Three New Additions

Skip Gleason, Brandon Morrison and Jordan Loera join the Eagles and head coach Joddie Gleason

Eastern Washington University women's basketball head coach Joddie Gleason has announced her coaching staff today (July 23), to include associate head coach Skip Gleason and assistant coaches Brandon Morrison and Jordan Loera.

"I'm extremely excited to have these three quality individuals join the program. They bring a tremendous amount of energy, enthusiasm, and desire to elevate the Eagle program to success," said Gleason who enters her first year at the helm. "Their individual experiences complement each other perfectly to create a staff that is well rounded and has it all. Each is extremely hard working, devoted to the student-athlete experience, and will bring that contagious energy to work on a daily basis. Our student-athletes are going to love them."

Skip Gleason is the husband of Joddie Gleason and the duo have coached together for 14 years beginning at Humboldt State University and most recently for the past five seasons at Seattle University.

"Skip and I have had success coaching together for the past 14 years. He is an excellent recruiter and is connected to coaches within Washington, the west region, as well as internationally. Skip is well respected in the basketball community and has an eye for talent and the ability to connect with prospects, parents and coaches creating relationships that are lasting," said Gleason on her hire. "His experience in development, as a defensive coordinator and as a former head coach will mesh with our staff and department well."

Morrison heads to Cheney after several seasons at UNLV where he was a scout team coordinator for the women's program prior to being named the video coordinator. In 2017, he was promoted to assistant coach and has been in that role for the past three seasons.

"Brandon has experience as a Division I assistant coach and video coordinator and brings those West Coast ties to Eastern Washington. His experience with scouting, video breakdown and analytics will make an immediate impact," said Gleason. "He is a tireless worker who is always looking to find ways to improve the program and assist the student-athletes with their skill development, well-being, and overall collegiate experience. Brandon brings energy and is ready to hit the ground running."

Loera spent two seasons at Southern Utah University as a graduate assistant. She has local ties as a Moses Lake, Wash., native and played collegiately at the University of Oregon from 2011-16.

"Jordan has local ties as a former athlete in the area and is well connected in the region. She is a positive and enthusiastic person, has experience in the Big Sky, and played collegiately at the highest level," added Gleason. "She is dedicated to player development and her skills working in marketing and digital media will be utilized immediately. Jordan's connections with local coaches will help with recruiting the talented girls basketball players in the area as well as get our summer camps up and running."
