Coming off its first home win of the season, Eastern Washington volleyball looks to keep the home court momentum going this week when they host Idaho. Eastern will play the Vandals on Friday, Oct. 14 with the first serve at 6 p.m. Pacific Time.
Last Time Out
The Eagles swept Idaho State this past Saturday with a complete team effort. Eastern hit well in the game with a .283 attack percentage and they limited the Bengals to a .229 percentage.
Sage Brustad had a game-high 19 kills and
Alyssa Radke added 10 to lead the offense. Brustad set a career high with a .429 attack percentage for a single game with at least five kills. Eastern had a 9.0 to 4.0 advantage in blocks, with
Sadie Bacon leading the team with five block assists.
Scouting the Eagles
Eastern has a 2-3 record in the Big Sky so far and is 7-10 overall this season. This season, Eastern is averaging 12.02 kills per set to rank fifth in the conference. The Eagles are second in the conference in service aces, recording 1.78 per set and 114 total.
After leading the Eagles in kills against the Vandals,
Sage Brustad continues to rank among the top hitters in the conference. The junior averages 3.83 kills per set to rank third in the conference and is second with 4.50 points per set. Brustad is hitting .221 this season and has also recorded 29 service aces. She ranks third in the conference in total service aces and aces per set(0.45).
Lindsey Russell's senior leadership has been key to Eagles offense this season and she ranks fourth in the conference with 9.63 assists per set. Russell has 12 games with 30 or more assists.
Alyssa Radke provides a double attack threat for Eastern, averaging 2.73 kills per set and is hitting .226 on the season. The sophomore has recorded double-digit kills in 10 of the team's 17 games.
Sadie Bacon provides an efficient third option for the Eagles offense, as she is sixth in the Big Sky with a .323 attack percentage. The sophomore is third on the team with 2.00 kills per set and is second with 19 service aces.
Scouting the Vandals
Idaho has struggled this season after starting out conference play 0-5 and they are 3-14 overall. The Vandals hosted Idaho State and Weber State last week, falling to the Bengals, 1-3 on Thursday. The Wildcats defeated Idaho, 3-1, on Saturday. At the net, the Vandals have found success, averaging 2.18 blocks per set, with 31 solo blocks and 166 assists to rank sixth in the Big Sky.
Freshman libero Aine Doty provides a solid defense for the Vandals on the court, averaging 3.72 digs per set to rank eighth in the conference. Freshman outside hitter Taryn Vrieling brings the offense for Idaho, leading the team with 2.64 kills per set and has a .148 attack percentage.
Eastern Washington has a 23-40 record against Idaho in program history but has won the past four games against the Vandals. Earlier this season, the Eagles swept Idaho in Moscow, recording a .433 attack percentage in the game.
Sage Brustad led the team with 14 kills and a .423 hitting percentage.

P16 and
P3. Vehicles in any other lots will be towed after 4 p.m. on Friday.Â

Eastern Washington will be back on the road next week, traveling to play Northern Arizona on Thursday, Oct. 20 at 6:30 p.m. Eastern will then play Northern Colorado on Saturday, Oct. 22 at 6 p.m.
