With the Big Sky Conference cross country championships just two weeks away, the Eastern Washington University cross country teams are preparing to compete in the last full-squad regular season meet of the year. The team will travel to Estacada, Ore., for the L&C Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 15., at Milo McIver State Park, hosted by Lewis & Clark College.

The women will kick things off with a 6k at 10:15 a.m., followed by the men's 8k at 11 a.m. To follow the meet via live results, click HERE.

The Eagles will toe the line with several different regional foes from various levels, including Division I opponents in Oregon State, Portland, Portland State, and Seattle.

The last time out, Eastern Washington split squads with the top-eight men and women competing at the Gans Creek Classic in Columbia, Mo., on Sept. 30, with the rest of the team competing at the Whitman College Open in Walla Walla, Wash., the following day.

In Missouri, Noah Hasselblad led the Eagle men to a 14th-place finish after clocking an 8k time of 24:20.9 to finish 31st overall. The time ranked seventh all-time at EWU, and Cameron Stuard's time of 24:38.1 ranks 11th.

Lilly Fetzer led the women to an 11th place finish after placing 57th with a time of 21:43.6 in the 6k, which ranks 13th all-time at Eastern Washington. Right behind her was Madilynn Carr who finished in 21:53.5 to rank 16th all-time. At the Whitman Open, Kaylin Sheley raced to a first-place finish, helping the EWU win its second meet of the year.

The EWU athletes not participating in this year's championships will compete for a final time on Oct. 26 at the Sasquatch Invite at Downriver Golf Course.

On Oct. 28, the Eagles put it all on the line and compete at the 2022 Big Sky Conference Cross Country championships, hosted by Eastern Washington at the Fairways Golf Course in Cheney, Wash., for the first time since 2010. The meet is free for spectators to attend, and the men's 8k will begin at 10 a.m. followed by the women's 5k at 11 a.m. For more information, visit the championship central page HERE.
