Eagles Sign Seale and Williams to '23 Class

Head Coach David Riley brings in a pair of touted high school prospects

Eastern Washington men's basketball has added a pair of important pieces to make the future of the program even more promising. Head coach David Riley announced the signings today (Nov. 10) of Jackson Seale and Mason Williams.

"With both Mason and Jackson, we are adding two high character, hardworking student-athletes," Riley said. "They are both coming from big time high school programs that know how to prepare and develop their players for college. They have a very bright future in this program and we could not be more excited they will be Eags!"

Jackson Seale | 6-10 | Forward
Jackson will join the Eagles from McKinney High School in McKinney, Texas. At McKinney, Jackson plays for veteran Coach Wes Watson and the team is coming off a tough loss in the Texas' 6A state championship game last season.

At Eastern, Jackson plans on majoring in finance with an ambition to work on Wall Street after graduating.

Coach Riley on Seale
"We are very excited about the signing of Jackson. Jackson is a versatile player with size that will blossom in our program.  At 6'10 he is a really good three-point shooter coming in and can score with a variety of moves around the basket.  He is extremely smart, a great teammate, and is under-appreciated for his ability to pass. Jackson is just scratching the surface and we can't wait to get to work with him!"

Mason Williams | 6-5 | Guard
Mason is having a decorated career at O'Dea High School and learning the game from legendary Seattle coach, Jason Kerr. Mason will be the third player Kerr has coached to play for Eastern. Mason also played for nationally renowned grassroots program Seattle Rotary, playing under directors and coaches Dan Finkley, Daryll Hennings and his father, Chuck Williams.

At O'Dea, Mason was an All-Metro Conference second team selection. During his junior season, Mason averaged 15 points, five rebounds and five assists per game.

Mason plans on majoring in journalism at Eastern.

Coach Riley on Williams

"Mason is a crafty point guard with really good size at 6'5. He is very cerebral, understands the game and has amazing feel. He can really make plays for others and knows how to run a team. Mason is a really good three-point shooter, can score in the midrange and attacking the basket, and will be a really good defender in the Big Sky. To get an in-state talent the caliber of Mason, from one of the best programs in the state, is a homerun for our program. We are thrilled Mason is joining our Eagle family!"

Eastern Washington will be in Honolulu, Hawai'i this weekend for the Outrigger Rainbow Classic. Eastern will play Yale on Friday (Nov. 11), Hawaii on Sunday (Nov. 13) and Mississippi Valley State on Monday (Nov. 14).
