CHENEY, Wash. — Eastern Washington is getting ready for its third season under head coach Dan Monson with six returning players and seven newcomers on the 2026-27 roster.

Big Sky play begins early this season with two road games in December. Eastern plays at Portland State on Dec. 3 and Northern Colorado on Dec. 5.

The Eagles return home to face Northwest on Dec. 8 before traveling to Portland on Dec. 13. EWU hosts Seattle Pacific on Dec. 17.

Eastern Washington and Washington State will meet in Spokane Arena on Dec. 22 for the 509 Classic.

Conference play resumes at Reese Court against Southern Utah on Dec. 31 and Utah Tech on Jan. 2. Eastern then hosts Northern Arizona on Jan. 7 before traveling to Montana State on Jan. 14 and Montana on Jan. 16.

The Eagles host Idaho State on Jan. 18 before making the short trip to Moscow to play Idaho on Jan. 23. EWU returns home for three straight games against Weber State on Jan. 25, Northern Colorado on Jan. 28 and Portland State on Jan. 30.

February begins with Eastern on the road against Utah Tech on Feb. 4 and Southern Utah on Feb. 6. The Eagles return to Cheney to host Montana on Feb. 11 and Montana State on Feb. 13.

EWU travels to Northern Arizona on Feb. 20 and Idaho State on Feb. 22. The Eagles play their final home game of the regular season against Idaho on Feb. 27 before finishing the schedule at Weber State on March 1.

Returning players for Eastern include Alton Hamilton IV, Maddox Monson, Cole Scherer, Emmett Marquardt, Shaumba Ngoyi and Alan Gballou.

The Eagles added seven newcomers this season. Transfers include Tavi Jackson, Jamil Miller, Jalen Griffith, Isak Homelius and Ayden Hamilton. Ayden joins his brother, Alton Hamilton IV, on the Eastern roster.

Freshmen Lance Horntvedt Jr. and Malachi Richmond round out the newcomers. Horntvedt is a 6-foot-7 forward from Richland, Wash., while Richmond is a 6-foot-2 guard from Vancouver, British Columbia.
