CHENEY, Wash. – The Eastern Washington University women's tennis team hits the road for two Big Sky Conference matches beginning with Idaho State this Friday, March 18 at 1 p.m. Pacific Time in Pocatello, Idaho. The Eagles then rest for one day before facing Weber State on Sunday, March 20 at 9 a.m. PT in Ogden, Utah.
The Eagles sit with a three-match winning streak, two of which in Big Sky Conference play, while the squad holds an overall 3-6 record and is 2-0 in conference.
Eastern returns after taking down both Montana (4-3) and Montana State (5-2) last weekend at home. The Eagles took an early advantage against the Griz after collecting the point in doubles play. In singles play, Eastern found success at the No. 1, No. 3 and No. 5 spots to secure the three points needed to send Montana home with a loss. With the win, Hinson holds a winning 6-4 all-time record against the Montana program with a four-match winning streak attached.
Against the Bobcats, the Eagles grinded out a 6-4 win at the No. 2 doubles spot and a 6-2 win at the No. 3 position to come back and take the doubles point after falling 6-3 at the No. 1 spot. In singles play, the Eagles made their final comeback after losing the No. 1 and No. 2 singles points to fall behind 2-1.

Kenzington Mann found victory, each taking down their opponent in two sets.
KNOWING YOUR OPPONENT: Idaho State
EWU has an overall series record of 13-21 against ISU with a three-match win streak. Last time out (2020), the Eagles hosted the Bengals and found a 6-1 victory. The season before, EWU traveled to ISU and returned home with a 5-2 win.
The Bengals are led by fifth-year head coach Gretchen Maloney. Idaho State is currently 5-3 overall and has a two-match losing streak after falling to Boise State and Air Force, respectively.
KNOWING YOUR OPPONENT: Weber State
The Eagles last faced the Wildcats in the 2021 Big Sky Semifinals and fell 4-2 at the Phoenix Tennis Center in Phoenix, Ariz.
The Eagles hold an all-time series program record of 6-20 against Weber State and are 0-3 all-time in the tournament versus the Wildcats. Weber State is currently 8-6 overall with a 2-0 conference record, defeating conference opponents NAU and PSU. The Wildcats are led by Brad Ferreira who enters his seventh season at the helm and his fourth year as Director of Tennis.
