CHENEY, Wash. – The Eastern Washington University women's golf team returns to the golf course this Monday and Tuesday (April 4-5) to compete in the Cowgirl Classic hosted by Wyoming. The tournament will be played at the Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club in Maricopa, Ariz., with 36 holes on the first day and 18 holes on the second, both beginning with a 7:30 a.m. Pacific time shotgun start.

"We're excited to get going again," said head coach
Brenda Howe. "Our last competitive round was our best round in two years and I think we're well prepared after a solid three weeks of practice."
Eastern is returning after competing in the Lady Thunderbird Invite which saw Kami Twinning finishing tied for 10
th after shooting an impressive 71 strokes in the third round. Twinning topped five players in four other conference schools to solidify her spot and help the Eagles finish 10
th overall.
Jaelin Ishikawa hit par at 72 strokes in her final round and
Morgan Baum improved by 17 strokes from the first round to finish with a 73 in the final round. As a team, EWU went from 334 total strokes in the first round to 294 total strokes in the third round.
The Eagles will compete among 21 other teams including seven Big Sky Conference schools in Idaho, Montana, Montana State, Northern Arizona, Northern Colorado, Portland State and Southern Utah. The other 14 schools include hosts Wyoming, Boise State, Santa Clara, UC Riverside, Seattle, Hawaii, Nevada, UTEP, Cal Baptist, Grand Canyon, Long Beach State, New Mexico State, Cal State Fullerton, and South Dakota State.
The Eagles will have a chance to participate in a practice round the day prior to the start of the event.
