CHENEY, Wash. - The Eastern Washington University women's tennis squad returns to the Jim Thorpe Fieldhouse to host Big Sky Conference foe Idaho for Senior Day on Sunday, April 24 at 11 a.m. Pacific Time. Eastern will be honoring
Yasmin Mansouri, along with
Louise Waite.

Yasmin Mansouri and
Louise Waite. They have given a lot to our program both on and off the court and they have accomplished so much as Eagles," said head coach
Dustin Hinson. "Our program has improved because of the time and effort they have contributed, and their influence will be felt in our program for years to come. We are excited for that extra motivation to play for our seniors on Sunday at our last match of the regular season."
SENIOR DAY: Yasmin Mansouri comes from West Vancouver, B.C., Canada, and is no stranger to competition. During her freshman season, Mansouri competed primarily at No. 6 singles to finish with an overall record of 9-11 and 5-4 in conference play.
In her sophomore season, she competed in all ten matches, putting together a 6-4 overall record at the No. 4 singles spot and an impressive 4-1 in Big Sky play. As a junior, Mansouri competed in 11 matches at the No. 6 singles spot, compiling an overall winning record of 8-3 and finished with an undefeated 3-0 in conference singles play to end the season on a four-match winning streak.
She has a career total of 25 singles play wins and 22 doubles play wins. Mansouri is a three-time Spring Big Sky All-Academic honoree and a three-time ITA Scholar Athlete.
Louise Waite comes from New Plymouth, New Zealand, and during her time at Eastern she has earned an All-Big Sky Second Team Doubles award as a freshman and an All-Big Sky Honorable Mention Doubles during her junior year. As a freshman, she competed primarily at No. 4 singles and finished with an overall record of 9-11 and 6-4 in Big Sky play. In doubles play, she finished with an overall record of 12-6 and 7-2 in conference play.
As a sophomore, Waite ended the season with an impressive 7-2 overall record at the No. 3 singles spot and 5-0 in Big Sky action to finish the year on a five-match winning streak. During her junior year, she competed in 16 matches, compiling a record of 3-6 at the No.3 singles spot, 2-3 at the No.4 singles spot, and finished singles play with an overall record of 5-11 and 8-7 in doubles play.
Waite is a three-time Big Sky All-Academic team member and a three-time ITA Scholar Athlete. She has a career total of 21 singles wins and 24 doubles wins, and is currently ranked at number one for most individual wins at the No. 2 doubles position (12) in program history.
LAST TIME OUT: The Eagles resume play following a 5-2 victory over Sacramento State at home last weekend, to improve to 4-11 overall and 3-4 conference record. Mansouri and
Jennifer Kida secured a win at No. 1 doubles, followed by
Scout Mathews and
Isabella Foshee at No. 3 to collect the doubles point. In singles play, the Eagles gathered wins at No. 1 with Kida (6-3, 6-2), No. 3 with Mansouri (6-0, 6-3), No. 4 with
Renata Gabuzyan (6-1, 7-6 (3)) and No. 6 with Foshee (6-1, 7-5).
KNOWING YOUR OPPONENT: The Eagles last faced the Vandals last season and found victory in a close 4-3 battle in Cheney. The Eagles began the match giving up the doubles point to go down 1-0, but bounced back with four singles play wins from Kida at No. 1, Mathews at No. 2, Gabuzyan at No. 5, and Mansouri at the No. 6 singles spot.
The Idaho squad is led by head coach Sanne Louwers, who enters her first season at the helm and currently leads her team to a 4-12 overall and 2-5 conference record, with wins over Montana State (5-2) and Montana (7-0).
The Eagles hold an all-time series record of 5-47 against the Vandals, with a two-match winning streak.
