In the first matchup of the spring season, Eastern Washington women's tennis defeated Seattle U 5-2 at Jim Thorpe Fieldhouse on Friday night (Jan. 13). After winning the doubles point, the Eagles won four singles matches to open 2023 with a 1-0 record.
"It was a great effort by the whole team today to get a season-opening win on our home court. I'm very proud of the way we approached our matches," head coach
Dustin Hinson said. "We are enjoying the journey and the process of improving, while just trying to stay in the moment no matter what is going on in the match. I loved our mentality and I love our energy out there today. This is a good start and now we need to keep working and keep building to improve anyway we can. I'm excited to see what we can accomplish this season if we keep sticking together and giving it all we've got, day in and day out."
