The Eagles went 23-11 overall last season, winning the Big Sky Regular Season Championship with a 16-2 conference record. The campaign was highlighted by a program and conference record 18-game winning streak, including a 16-0 start to Big Sky play. They went on to upset Washington State on the road in the first round of the 2023 National Invitation Tournament before a narrow loss at Oklahoma State.

Head coach David Riley returns several key players from last year's group, including all-conference forward Ethan Price, who anchors an imposing frontcourt that also boasts juniors Casey Jones, Cedric Coward and Dane Erikstrup. Transfers Jake Kyman (Wyoming, UCLA), Andre Mulibea (Salt Lake CC, Utah Tech) and Nic McClain (Daytona State College) join veteran point guard Ellis Magnuson in a backcourt of fresh faces ready to step up after the departure of Big Sky MVP Steele Venters (transferred to Gonzaga), First Team All-Big Sky guard Angelo Allegri (graduated) and redshirt senior Tyreese Davis (pursuing professional basketball career).
