CHENEY, Wash. — Eastern Washington men's basketball player
Steele Venters has been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division I All-District Second Team for District 6, as announced by the NABC on Tuesday.
Just weeks after being voted the 2022-23 Big Sky Conference Most Valuable Player and First Team All-Conference, Venters garnered more recognition after leading the Eagles to a Big Sky Regular Season Championship and 23-10 overall record including Tuesday night's NIT opening round win over Washington State, during which he scored a game-high 27 points.
He is the 14th EWU player — and 12th in the last 10 years — to earn NABC All-District honors, joining most recently Tanner Groves in 2021 (first team). NABC District 6 includes the Big Sky and Western Athletic Conferences.
Venters was one of three Eagles recognized earlier this season with All-Big Sky honors, joined by teammates
Angelo Allegri (first team) and
Ethan Price (honorable mention).
