Eagles downed at Sac St

Women's Tennis falls on the road to the Hornets

The Eastern Washington University women's tennis squad traveled to Sac State today (March 31) and fell to a score of 6-1 at the Sacramento State Tennis Courts. The Eagles fought tough against the Hornets, proving each match to be a battle but returned home with the Big Sky Conference deficit. With the loss, Eastern moves to 2-10 overall and 0-4 in conference play.

"Tough loss today. We had good chances in a lot of the matches but weren't able to pull through," head coach Dustin Hinson said. "The team left it out on the court and I'm proud of their effort . I'm happy for the win on court six for [Kenzington] Mann. She played well and earned the victory."

Kenzington Mann delivered with a victory at the No. 6 singles spot, winning the first set 6-3. In the second set, Mann clinched the match with a 6-4 win.

Jennifer Kida picked up a win at No. 2 singles, finding victory in her first set  6-4, but the match would end in Sac. St. favor after three sets. Renata Gabuzyan boosted the team when she forced a third set at singles No. 3 spot after winning the second set 6-3. Her match would eventually end in a third set tie breaker, falling 12-10.
