SPOKANE, Wash. – Coming off a successful showing in the ITA Northwest Regional Tournament, the Eastern Washington Women's tennis team traveled next door to play in the Gonzaga Invitational.

The tournament featured a main draw of 64 different players, and eight teams across the three days of matches. Four Eagle players participated in the singles and doubles brackets across the weekend.

"
I think the main things we are trying to look at here in this fall season is getting used to those pressure situations and handling the adversity and how we are gonna step up and stay calm and be able to execute in those situations so that was great," head coach Dustin Hinson said.

Isabella Foshee was the spotlight for the Eagles in the singles tournament. Foshee would win two singles matches, and reach the semifinals of the gold main draw singles bracket.

"It was a good tournament, and we had some great performances. Most notable would be Isabella Foshee, one of our seniors and captains. She played at the top flight of singles and made it to the semi finals," head coach Dustin Hinson said. "She had two great wins to get there, and getting top four is pretty solid, so that's a great result from her playing really well."

Eastern collected three total singles wins in the tournament, and saw
Sara Vasic earn her first win of the season when Vasic and Leandra Nizetic earned a doubles win on Saturday.

"We had another good win by Kenzington Mann in singles which was great. I thought in doubles we performed pretty well. Had a good win and got to the consolation finals with Leandra Nizetic and Sara Vasic," Hinson said. "I thought they competed well, and that's the most important thing. In these tournaments, where we have eight teams, and a lot of conference teams, we're getting our first look at some who we're gonna face in the spring season."

"Overall I am happy with how we are competing in high pressure situations and that was great. I'm looking forward to the San Diego State Invite. It is always great to see a lot of teams that we don't normally face," Hinson said. "Hopefully we have the full eight players back for that due to some minor injury issues and some minor sickness that we've had in a couple weeks to finish out the fall."
