Eastern Men’s Tennis begin 2024 fall tournament play

(Eagles open fall play in the Idaho State Invite)

POCATELLO, Idaho – The Eastern Washington men's tennis team started their 2024 fall season this past weekend at the Idaho State Invite. Six teams played in the invite, with a round of 32 singles tournament, and a round of 16 doubles tournament. 


Two doubles teams competed in the tournament for the Eagles. On Friday, in the first round, Arshjot Bhatti/Tyler Waddock defeated Keanu Rigby (USU)/David Duong (BYU) 8-7 (7-5). On Saturday Bhatti/Waddock would fall in the quarterfinals to the eventual doubles champion of the tournament Victor Sklenka/Valentino De Pellegrin (ISU) 8-1. Tyler Dalos/Caden Kammerer fell to Jowan Rawson/Sam Wensley (ISU) 8-3 in their lone consolation doubles match.


Six Eagles competed in the round of 32 singles tournament.

Quentin Lamothe (ISU) def. Tyler Dalos (EWU) 6-4, 6-3

David Duong (BYU) def. Jess Weaver (EWU) DNP

Jacob Watkins (UM) def. Caden Kammerer (EWU) 6-3, 7-6 (7-3)

Lewie Bouman (ISU) def. Brady Thomas (EWU) 6-1, 6-2

Moritz Lesjak (UM) def. Arshjot Bhatti (EWU) 6-2, 6-2


Saturday Singles Consolation Matches Results:

Tyler Dalos (EWU) def. Geremia Rossi (UU) 6-4, 6-4

Keanu Rigby (USU) def. Caden Kammerer (EWU) 6-2, 6-2

Sam Wensley (ISU) def. Arshjot Bhatti (EWU) 6-4, 6-4

Tyler Waddock (EWU) def. David Duong (BYU) 6-2, 6-3


Up Next

Eastern Washington will travel to Missoula, Montana to play in the Peak Tournament on Friday, October 25 - Sunday, October 27 in its second tournament of the 2024 fall season.
