Eagles drop match against Lopes

The match finished early after Grand Canyon secured four points

MISSOULA, Mont. —  Eastern Washington men's tennis played its second match of the weekend against Grand Canyon in Missoula. The Lopes defeated the Eagles 4-0 in the neutral matchup. EWU is now 0-3 on the season. 

Eastern started the day with a competitive battle in doubles. Brady Thomas and Arshjot Bhatti joined up to defeat Jonathan Da Silva and Wyatt Anderson, 6-3, in the third spot. Erik Sarlvik and Drew Dillon nearly secured the doubles point for the Eagles, but the duo fell short, 7-5 against Paolo Rosati and Pablo Carretero Salvador.

Tyler Dalos battled at the No. 4 singles position against Da Silva, but dropped the two-set match (3-6, 3-6). Bhatti competed well at the No. 5 singles spot against Rosati, but missed in two sets (3-6, 4-6)

Eastern will play two matches in Boise, Idaho next week, beginning with Cal Poly on Friday (Feb. 9) at 11 a.m. Pacific Time. The Eagles then play Boise State on Saturday (Feb. 10) at 6 p.m.
