Eagles fall to Bobcats in home opener

Eastern Washington dropped its Big Sky match of the season

CHENEY, Wash. — Eastern Washington men's tennis hosted Montana State for its first home match at the Jim Thorpe Fieldhouse on Saturday morning. The Bobcats defeated the Eagles, 6-1, after taking five of the six singles matches EWU is now 0-2 in conference and 0-8 overall this season.

Tyler Dalos earned the Eagles' point at the No. 4 singles spot, facing Rayan Hermassi. Dalos took the first set, 7-6, but dropped the second 6-4. In the third set tiebreaker, Dalos emerged with a 7-6 win to get the victory. 

In the doubles, Drew Dillon and Arshjot Bhatti teamed up at the No. 2 position against Andre Stewart and Hermassi. The two Eags won the match, 6-4, but the team could not secure the doubles point.
