CHENEY, Wash. — The fall sports schedule is coming to an end this week, while the winter sports gets into high-gear. Men's and Women's basketball are both at Reese Court tonight for a doubleheader. The two teams have five days off before playing road games on Sunday. Football travels for its final game on Saturday against Cal Poly. Volleyball closes out its 2025 season at home with games on Wednesday and Friday.
Football - at Cal Poly (Saturday, Nov. 22 at 2 p.m. Pacific Time)
The 2025 season will conclude for EWU on Saturday as they travel to play Cal Poly on Saturday (Nov. 22), with kickoff at 2 p.m. Pacific Time. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+ and fans can listen to every play on 700 ESPN and the Varsity App with the voices of the Eagles, Larry Weir and Paul Sorensen.
Eastern celebrated senior day this past Saturday and sent its class off with a victory after defeating Northern Colorado, 27-7. The teams traded scores in the first and second quarters, but the Eagles scored 17 consecutive points to take control, leading 20-7 at halftime. They added another score in the third quarter to solidify their lead. EWU's defense came up huge, making five interceptions in the game and limiting the Bears to 326 yards of total offense.
Jake Schakel passed for 299 yards, completing 31-of-41(75.6%) passes, with two touchdowns and one interception.
Nolan Ulm caught his 11th career touchdown pass in his final game on Roos Field, finishing with five receptions for 35 yards.
Miles Williams had six catches for 94 yards, a game-high.
Eastern honored 20 seniors in a pregame ceremony as they played their final home game of their careers.
Making the five interceptions was Jaylon Jenkins grabbing his fifth on the season and Jonathan Landry getting his second. Three Eagles made their first career interceptions, with the group including Drew Carter, Isaac Redford and JoJo Maxey-Johnson. As a team, it was the most interceptions in a single game since Oct. 31, 2009 vs. Portland State, also tying for second all-time in EWU history.
EWU is second in the Big Sky with 13 interceptions, as Montana leads with 18. Jenkins' five picks ties him for the conference lead. Landry and Ambrose Marsh are tied for 10th with two each. Jenkins is also tied for second with 12 passes defended this season, with the five interceptions and seven pass breakups averaging 1.1 a game.

Eastern returns to Reese Court on Monday, Nov. 17 at 7:30 p.m. to host Eastern Oregon, before heading back on the road to face Central Arkansas on Sunday, Nov. 23 at 11 a.m.
The Eagles are looking to bounce back from a 94–67 loss to Seattle U on Wednesday, where they couldn't overcome the Redhawks' fast start and red-hot shooting. Seattle led wire-to-wire, knocking down nearly 65% from the field.
Associate Head Coach Ryan Lundgren said the team looked worn down after a long road swing, calling the effort "flat" and "embarrassing." He credited Seattle's intensity after last year's EWU win and said the Eagles "had no answer" on the defensive end.
Eastern moved the ball well early, tallying 10 assists in the first half, but the offense stalled after the break, managing just one assist while shooting 37%. Johnny Radford led with 13 points, and Isaiah Moses added 12.
After a grueling 10-day stretch away from home, Lundgren said the group is eager to reset, regroup, and sharpen up heading into their upcoming home appearance.

EWU keeps its homestand going tonight with a matchup against Cal Poly at 5 p.m. The game is part of a double-header with men's basketball. Fans can stream the game live on ESPN+.
EWU dropped its only game last week to Southern Utah, 74-68 at home. The Thunderbirds and a strong offensive game, shooting 43.1 percent from the floor. Eastern struggled to find offensive rhythm early, but rallied in the second half to battle back in the game. The Eagles cut the SUU lead down to two at 62-60 with six minutes remaining in the game. The Thunderbirds responded with an 8-0 run to separate for good and secure the win.
Elyn Bowers dropped 18 points in the game, while
Kourtney Grossman recorded her first double-double of the season, 10 points and 11 rebounds.
Early in the season, Eastern has shown an ability to shoot the three and defend the three. The team carries a 39.2 percentage from behind the arc, ranking second in the Big Sky. On defense, the Eagles are holding opponents to a 26.8 percentage from three, ranking third in the conference.
Bowers is the key outside shooter for Eastern through three games, shooting 53.3 percent and averaging 2.7 made threes a game. The true freshman ranks third and fourth respectively in the conference in those categories. Bowers leads the eagles and ranks sixth in the Big Sky with 16.0 points per game. Grossman is back to her double-double ways from her freshman season, averaging 12.7 points and 9.3 rebounds per game. The sophomore is second in the conference in rebounding and 14th in scoring.

Eastern returns home looking to close out the season on a high note, hosting Sacramento State on Wednesday, Nov. 19 at 6 p.m., before celebrating Senior Day against Portland State on Friday, Nov. 21 at 11 a.m. The Eagles will honor seniors Anna Bolich, Alyssa Radke, and Sophia Lindemann.
The team wrapped up its road trip with back-to-back sweeps at Montana State and Montana, showing strong stretches of play but struggling to maintain momentum. Against MSU, Eastern raced out to a 14–7 lead in the opening set and pushed the Bobcats in a tight third frame before falling 3–0. Head coach Jon Haruguchi praised the group's aggressiveness and fight, led by seven kills apiece from Kalista Lukovich and Judith Bolomboy, along with an 11–6 blocking advantage powered by Quincey McCoy and Bolomboy.
At Montana, the Eagles again found bright moments—posting 12 blocks and nearly erasing a late deficit in set three—but were unable to overcome the Griz's extended scoring runs in another 3–0 decision. Lukovich recorded 11 kills, while Jailyn Davenport guided the offense with 16 assists.
The two-match stretch highlighted Eastern's strength at the net and ability to generate momentum, while also emphasizing the need for consistency as they return home for their final week of the season.
