Hornets down Eagles in Sacramento

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - EWU would be unable to snag their second straight conference win after a 7-0 loss to Sacramento State. The Eagles fall to 4-12 overall and 1-2 in conference play, with Sacramento State improving to 8-7 overall, and 2-3 in Big Sky play.

The Eagles and the Hornets faced off in their 25th all-time meeting, with the Hornets now holding the 23-2 advantage over the Eagles. 

In doubles, the Eagles would run the same lineup as last match. EWU would be unable to gain momentum, falling behind early and falling in each of their dual-matches.

Tyler Dalos/Tyler Waddock faced a tough opponent in the No. 1 position for the Eagles, falling 6-1, with No. 2 doubles Arshjot Bhatti/Drew Dillon falling 6-2 to the Hornets. 

Brady Thomas/Caden Kammerer in the No. 3 position would have their match go unfinished due to Sacramento State clinching the doubles point in positions 1 and 2. 

Tyler Waddock would represent the Eagles in the No. 1 position. Waddock would see his conference loss of the season drop to 2-1 after a 6-2, 6-2 defeat. 

Tyler Dalos in the No. 2 singles position would fall 6-2 in the first set to Gur Libal. The second set saw a back and forth battle, but Dalos would fall 6-4. 

In the No. 5 position, Arshjot Bhatti would lose a tough first set 6-4, and would be unable to gain his footing in the second with a 6-2 loss.

The Eagles will finish their road trip and wrap up the weekend at No. 61 Pacific Sunday, Mar. 16 at 10 a.m.
