CHENEY, Wash. — The action continues for Eastern Washington athletics as the regular season advances through January. Coming off a dominant road win, men's basketball is back at Reese Court for two key matchups this week against Big Sky leader Portland State and Sacramento State. Women's basketball looks to add more road wins to its resume with matchups against the Vikings and Hornets. Track and Field drives south for the three-day, Lauren McClusky Memorial in Moscow, Idaho. Women's tennis hosts an exhibition match on Thursday before returning to the road on Saturday.

Men's Basketball - vs Portland State (Thursday, Jan. 22 at 6 p.m.), vs Sacramento State (Saturday, Jan. 24 at 2 p.m.)

The Eagles head back to Cheney this week to host Portland State on Thursday, Jan. 22 at 6 p.m., followed by Sacramento State on Saturday, Jan. 24 at 2 p.m. Eastern Washington split last week's road trip, earning an 84–66 victory over Idaho State before falling 91–80 at Weber State. Eastern owns a 34–28 all-time record against Portland State and won the most recent meeting in Cheney, 72–67. Against Sacramento State, the Eagles hold a commanding 47–17 series advantage and swept the Hornets last season.

Isaiah Moses continues to lead the Big Sky in free-throw percentage at 93 percent and was a perfect 22-for-22 at the line over the weekend. He ranks fifth in the conference in scoring and eighth in assists, while Kiree Huie sits second in blocks with 22 on the season, averaging 1.22 per game.

Against Weber State, four Eagles scored in double figures, led by Huie's career-high 21 points. Moses, Alton Hamilton IV, and Tyler Powell also contributed offensively, with Powell matching his career best with 17 points while shooting 75 percent from the field. Eastern opened the game with strong defensive energy and carried a 44–42 lead into halftime, fueled by transition offense and interior scoring. In the second half, the Eagles remained competitive behind Moses and Huie, but Weber State's perimeter shooting, rebounding advantage, and late free throws proved decisive.

Eastern responded with an impressive road win at Idaho State, highlighted by a balanced and efficient offensive performance led by Moses' game-high 22 points. Hamilton IV added 15 points and nine rebounds, while Huie, Johnny Radford, and JoJo Anderson also reached double figures. Eastern seized control early with defensive pressure and transition scoring, building a 44–21 halftime lead and never allowing the Bengals to seriously threaten. Timely baskets, strong interior defense, and consistent free-throw shooting helped the Eagles maintain control and close out the 84–66 victory.
