CHENEY, Wash. – Silver Waves Media announced its 7th Annual Silver Waves Media 100 Most Impactful Mid-Major Assistants List, one of the most prestigious recognitions in college basketball and across all of sports. The honor highlights assistant coaches who are making a significant impact on their programs and the game, with more than 40 past recipients having gone on to become collegiate head coaches.
"I'm honored to be recognized among some of the most respected and deserving assistants in the country," said Associate Head Coach Ryan Lundgren. "Ryan Silver and Silver Waves Media have created a platform that helps continue to grow our industry. It's humbling to be acknowledged in this group, especially considering how many deserving coaches there are at every level of college basketball."
Lundgren was named to this year's list as one of just five coaches from the Big Sky Conference to earn the distinction. Now in his second season as the associate head coach at Eastern Washington University, Lundgren oversees the Eagles' offense while directing all recruiting and NIL operations for the program.
This past season, Lundgren played a key role in the recruitment of Big West transfer Isaiah Moses, who went on to earn Big Sky Player of the Week honors in November. In his first season at Eastern, Lundgren was also instrumental in securing the transfer of Andrew Cook, who enjoyed a career year under his guidance. Cook finished the season ranked in the top 10 in the Big Sky in multiple statistical categories, including points, field goal percentage, free-throw percentage, and steals.
Lundgren joined the Eagles following the 2023–24 season, when he served as the head coach at Carroll College, bringing a proven track record of leadership, player development, and program building to Eastern Washington.
"Well deserved," said Head Coach Dan Monson. "Ryan not only deserves to be on this list, he should be at the top of it. He is a Division I head coach in waiting, in my opinion."
