3/2/2026 12:23:00 PM

CHENEY, Wash. — It's March and that means postseason basketball is here. Men's basketball looks to claim a share of the Big Sky title tonight at Reese Court. Women's basketball travels to Moscow to close out their regular season. Women's tennis is back at home to begin Big Sky competition this week. Women's golf is in California for a three-day tournament, while men's golf is in Oregon for a three-day competition.

Men's Basketball - vs Idaho (Monday, March 2 at 6 p.m.)

The Eagles continued to stay hot as they extended their win streak to eight with wins over Northern Colorado, 82–72, and Northern Arizona, 88–57. They turn their attention to Idaho for their final game of the regular season on Monday, March 2 at 6 p.m., as they fight for a top seed in the Big Sky Tournament.

The Eagles are 39–61 all-time against the Vandals, falling in the last matchup in Moscow to open Big Sky play. Isaiah Moses still leads the conference in free-throw percentage and ranks second in the NCAA at 93 percent, while sitting fifth in scoring and seventh in assists in the conference. Kiree Huie is second in the league in both blocked shots and field-goal percentage, while Alton Hamilton IV ranks sixth in offensive rebounds.

Eastern Washington pushed its winning streak to eight with back-to-back home victories over Northern Colorado and Northern Arizona, relying on interior dominance, balanced scoring, and strong defensive stretches. Against Northern Colorado, Huie posted a career-high 23 points with 10 rebounds and four blocks while Hamilton and Moses combined for 39 points in an 82–72 win. Two days later, Hamilton again led with 23 in an 88–57 rout of Northern Arizona as Jojo Anderson, Moses, and Johnny Radford added double-figure scoring and Straton Rogers surpassed 900 career rebounds.

Across the two games, the Eagles shot efficiently, controlled the paint, and forced turnovers to dictate tempo. Eastern erased a first-half deficit and broke open a tight second half to beat Northern Colorado, then dominated Northern Arizona from the start with a 45–25 halftime lead and 64 percent shooting overall. Contributions throughout the rotation, defensive pressure, and transition scoring fueled repeated runs that allowed Eastern to pull away late Thursday and cruise comfortably Saturday.

Women's Basketball - at Idaho (Monday, March 2 at 6 p.m.)

Eastern Washington plays its final game of the 2025-26 regular season tonight in Moscow against Idaho. The game tips off at 6 p.m. from the ICCU Arena and is streamed live on ESPN+. The Vandals have clinched a share of the regular season conference title already. EWU enters the final game 7-10 in the Big Sky, currently tied with Sacramento State for fifth in the standings.

The Eagles went 1-1 this past week, and celebrated senior day on Saturday against Northern Arizona. EWU was in control against the Lumberjacks from the first quarter, cruising to a
81-61 victory. Elyn Bowers scored a team-high 21 points and Kourtney Grossman dropped her 19th double-double, finishing with 17 points and 12 rebounds. With 12 rebounds, Grossman broke the Big Sky single-season rebounding record of 372. The Billings, Mont. native has 381 rebounds currently, 41 shy of the Eastern single-season record. Postgame, the team honored five seniors including Ella Gallatin, Bella Hays, Paris Kirk, Addison Hall and Camille Jentszch.

To start the week, EWU faced Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colo.,
falling 70-65 to the Bears. The Eagles trailed by double-digits, but organized a rally in the fourth quarter to take the lead late. The team ran out of gas, and UNC was able to retake and hold the lead. Bowers again led the team with 16 points, getting 15 from Grossman as well.

Grossman's rebounding dominance has her in firm control of the top spot in the conference, with a 12.7 per game average, 2.8 rebounds clear of the number two spot. She ranks fifth in the NCAA for rebounds per game. On the double-double front, Grossman's 19 leads the conference and also ranks fifth in the nation. Grossman averages 14.0 points per game, good for 11th-place tie in the Big Sky.

Scoring-wise, Gallatin has been hot, averaging 17.7 points in conference games. She leads the team this season and ranks fourth in the Big Sky with a 15.5 points per game average. Gallatin adds 3.5 assists per game - tied for seventh in the conference - while shooting 42.1 percent from the floor.
