CHENEY, Wash. — Fall Camp 2026 is now complete for Eastern Washington football, with the focus switching to the regular season. Eastern held its second scrimmage, representing the 20th practice of fall camp. The offense and defense went toe-to-toe for an hour and a half, under the heat of August, in the final live action before the 2026 season begins.
Sophomore quarterback Kaden Rolfsness engineered two touchdown drives, with Drew Carlson providing the excitement.
Carlson tallied four catches for 95 yards and two touchdown passes from Rolfsness. The redshirt sophomore started the scoring with a 70-yard catch. Carlson then caught a 15-yard touchdown for the offense's second score of the scrimmage.
Messiah Washington showed his seamless transition from safety to corner, accounting for three pass breakups.
Carson Moore was active on the defensive line, accounting for one sack and three total tackles. Matt Eskridge II had three total tackles, with one for loss.
Jayden Woodland added aggression out of the secondary, earning a sack in the scrimmage. Israel Robles had one pass breakup and one tackle in support, while Zamarie Tellez added a pair of tackles.
Establishing the run was a key point for the offense during the scrimmage. The effort was led by true CJ Bozeman, who rushed for 52 yards on six carries. Jaxon Bell had six carries for 24 yards as well.
The passing game added multiple big plays on Friday, with Oliver Luebkert catching a 50-yard pass and Sean Embree Jr. reeling in a 40-yard strike. Rolfsness and true freshman Brady Annett both showed poise and confidence passing during the fall camp finale.
Eastern Washington begins its regular season next Saturday (Aug. 29) against Big Sky foe Northern Arizona in Flagstaff, Ariz. The game kicks off at 2 p.m. Pacific Time and can be streamed live on ESPN+. Fans can also listen to the game live on 700 ESPN with the voice of the Eagles, Larry Weir and Paul Sorensen.
