FARMINGTON, Utah — Eastern Washington football has set the standard for academics in the Big Sky.
EWU posted a 3.46 cumulative GPA for the 2025-26 academic year, topping all 12 other football programs in the conference.
After final grades were submitted, three Eagles posted 4.0 GPAs, and 52 had GPA's over 3.0 for the year.
The team GPA titles are based on the entire year and not just the season they competed in.
Academic success is nothing new for the Eagles this past year, with 37 earning Big Sky All-Academic honors for the fall quarter.
In January, six Eagles earned CoSIDA Academic All-District honors. The six student-athletes honored included
Dylan Conner,
Landon Cooper,
Jaylon Jenkins,
Landon Ogles,
Trevor Thurman and
Nolan Ulm.
Seven Eastern student-athletes then were named to the National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society in April. Conner, Cooper, Ogles, Thurman and Ulm qualified for the Honor Society and were joined by
Aidan Corning and
Noah Cronquist.
Ulm added semifinalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy to his academic accolades during his final season in Cheney.
Football's GPA helped EWU post a department GPA of 3.0 for the 57th consecutive quarter in the spring. Football had a 3.27 GPA during the spring quarter.
