The Eastern Washington University's men's tennis team will pick up competition this Monday, March 27 at Boise State with matches beginning at 12:30 p.m. The Eagles are entering the match with a 9-5 overall record. They are currently in second place with a 4-1 record in the Big Sky Conference.
Boise State has a 3-16 overall record so far this year with wins against Idaho State, University of Las Vegas and Whitman. The last time EWU faced the Broncos was in 2015, where Eastern lost 7-0. Overall, Boise State leads the series 11-1 with the Eagles last defeating them in 1985.
EWU is coming off Big Sky competition after defeating Weber State and falling to Idaho State. Eastern is currently sitting in second place in the standings behind Northern Arizona (8-6, 4-0). Even sitting in second place, the Eagles currently have the best overall record at 9-5 (.643).
Senior Robert Dula is ranked No. 19 in the ITA Northwest Rankings and has a 7-5 overall record in the No. 1 singles spot. Junior Flavien Raveau has the best overall record sitting at 8-4 in a variety of single spots.
In doubles, junior Ricardo Almeida and senior Wacil Bendjelti has the best overall record with 7-1 in the No. 3 spot.
After taking on the Broncos, Eastern will continue Big Sky competition against Northern Colorado on April 2. This will be the first home match since taking on Air Force on March 11.
