The first match of the weekend is against USC Upstate in Spartanburg, S.C. The Spartans are opening up their regular season against the Eagles after finishing their 2017 season 6-16 overall and 2-4 in the ASUN conference. They will be returning five players from last season and welcoming two new athletes to regular season competition.
Following USC Upstate, the Eagles travel to Charleston, S.C. to face The Citadel – The Military College of South Carolina. The Citadel Bulldogs, with already seven matches under their belt, are 0-7 in the regular season. The Bulldogs return 10 athletes from last season with four new athletes.
To close the weekend, EWU will compete against Coastal Carolina in Conway, S.C. The Chanticleers went 13-9 overall last season and features just three returners with five new faces. Their upcoming match against the Eagles will be their second match of the 2018 regular season.

The Eagles return All-Big Sky honorable mentions from a season ago in Scott Paz and Victor Pereira, as well as other returners Ricardo Almeida, Devon Kashishian, Flavien Raveau, and Garner Sears. This will be Martin Bats, Jeremy Mueller and Jeremy Field's second regular season competition as Eagles.
"The sun is shining and some of the aches and pains are subsiding so we're hoping to be at full strength this weekend," said Clark, regarding previous injuries.
