Box Score DAVIS, Calif.—The Eastern Washington University men's tennis team faced off against the UC Davis Aggies today to a loss of 6-1 in their first match of the 2019 spring schedule.
"For the first match of the year and not having one of our top three players, the match was very close and it could have easily gone either way if we would have won some of the tiebreakers," said head coach Steve Clark. "Our guys fought with grit and tenacity today. We won at number one doubles and singles and as you can tell there were a lot of tiebreakers, as well as being up at number two 5-2 in the second set. Overall, the match was extremely close. As a team we talked about what cost us the match and how being determined to improve on that for tomorrow's match will start with mental commitment." .
