Eastern Washington University is preparing for the next two meets on their schedule in California and locally in Spokane.
The Eagles will be taking 16 runners to the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational at Bayland's Park in Sunnyvale, Calif., on Saturday (Oct. 19). The meet will begin at 8:45 a.m. Pacific time with the Men's 8K followed by the Women's 6K at 9:30 a.m.
The remainder of Eastern's men's and women's teams will compete on Friday (Oct. 18) at the Downriver Golf Course for this year's Sasquatch Invite. The meet begins at 4:30 p.m. Pacific time.
The Eagles turned in strong performances from both sides at the 45
th Charles Bowles Invitational in Salem, Ore., for their last meet on (Oct. 5). The men placed third while the women finished fourth overall among the 17 schools that had participated.
Eight racers from both the men's and the women's teams, including Eastern's top finishers from Salem, will travel with the team to the Bronco Invitational.
Carter Ledwith and
Rees Jacot were the top finishers for the Eagles in Salem. Ledwith led the men with a time of 24:52.6, placing fifth overall in the Men's Cardinal 8K.
Isaac Barville came in close behind in ninth place finishing with a time of 24:59.4. Jacot had a finishing time of 18:22.6 to lead the women by coming in 10
th in the Women's Cardinal 5K.
The Bronco Invitational along with the Sasquatch Invite will be Eastern's final two regular season meets before the Big Sky Conference Championships get underway in Greeley, Colo., at the Boomerang Golf Course on (Nov. 2). The Women' s 5K Championship Race will begin at 10 a.m. Pacific time, followed by the Men's 8K Championship Race at 11 a.m.
