Box Score POCATELLO, Idaho-- The Eastern Washington University men's tennis team competed against fellow Big Sky Conference team Idaho State to a loss of 6-1 today (Feb. 24) on the road. After today's loss the Eagles overall record sits at 1-5 and 0-3 in conference play.
"The individual scores show a very tight match. Every match except for one went to either three sets or a tiebreaker or we were up breaks," said head coach Steve Clark. "
Jeremy Field played at the one spot and won a battle of a match in the third set tiebreaker.
Manuel Balce played at three spot and was up a break in each set and had one of the most impressive points I've seen in college tennis in many years. He ended up winning the point but lost the match eventually and
Jeremy Mueller fell in the third set tiebreaker as well.
Martin Bats and
Wout Doumen both had tiebreakers that didn't end the way they hoped but they fought hard. Overall, we showed some grit and played much better in the altitude compared to yesterday. We just have to work harder in some areas."
