Eagles Head Off to Portland State and Portland this Saturday and Sunday

EWU returns to play after losses to Weber State and Idaho State this past weekend (Feb. 23rd and 24th)

CHENEY, Wash.-- The Eastern Washington University men's tennis team picks back up this weekend on the road as they head to the Portland State (March 2) and then the University of Portland (March 3). Following this weekend's losses to Weber State (6-1) and Idaho State (6-1), EWU now sits at an overall record of 1-5 and 0-3 in Big Sky play.

The Eagles will first take on fellow Big Sky opponent, Portland State on Saturday (March 2). PSU has an overall record of 6-3 with victories over; Seattle (6-1), Lewis and Clark (7-0), Seattle (6-1), George Fox (6-1), Idaho (5-2) and Montana State (6-1). The Vikings are led by head coach Toby Krauel, who is in his sixth season as head coach. The match is set to begin at 1 p.m. Pacific time.

After EWU plays PSU they then will take on the University of Portland Sunday (March 3). The Pilots have an overall record of 3-6 on their 2019 schedule with victories over; Portland State (7-0), Idaho (5-2) and Montana State (6-1). UP is led by head coach Aaron Gross who is in his 22nd season as head coach. The match is set to begin at 9 a.m. Pacific time in Portland, Ore.

Following this weekend's matches the Eagles will then return home for a single match against Big Sky opponent, Northern Colorado on Saturday, March 9 in Cheney, Wash.. The match is set to begin at 12 p.m. PT.
